Winter Break

Well it appears that our winter this year could be a warm one.  I much as I like the snow, I don't mind the warmer that normal weather.  Over break I hope students and families get a chance to enjoy time with each other.

As far as homework for science....there is no assigned homework but, students should catch up on any missing work from the first half of the current quarter.  Of course, to keep their minds active,  sixth graders can build straw rockets like the ones we made in class and conduct experiments.  When we come back from break we will be building bridges to understand force.  Students can preview any of the first 10 - 15 videos in the Force and Motion folder on the Teachers Domain website.

5th graders can make a list of devices in their home that are simple machines.  The edheads.org website in the link column of this blog has many activities to keep kids busy learning about science.  Students should also brush up on the vocabulary terms for their grade level.

Hoping all families have a safe and fun break.
