Tuesday, October 4

Remember conferences are next week.  You will see date/time confirmation slips from homeroom teachers this week.

Check out the Link  http://www.smm.org/girlsandscience  (In Links on my Blog) for information on Girls & Science.  Thank you Darcy McKenzie (5th grade parent) for the information and link to the coupon.

Up to four kids (12 and under) can get in free with a paid adult with this coupon.   http://www.myfoxtwincities.com/generic/community/girls_and_science/girls_and_science_20

5th graders will begin a unit on Variables.  We will start by looking at the pendulum and learn how it works and how to make one swing faster or slower. Last week students discovered that release position and increasing or decreasing the mass of a pendulum does not cause it to swing faster or slower.

6th graders will continue to learn about matter.  We will focus on volume, mass, and density this week. Students should bring in two items from home.  One that sinks and one that floats.  We are going to calculate the mass, volume, and density of each item.

Please check the Grade Level tabs for specific information for each class.
